Irvine CA, 5 September 2019. Burrana announces a program to retrofit LATAM’s A320 and A321 fleets with its innovative In-seat Power solution, which is part of the airline’s $400M investment program to update the fleet’s cabin interiors to provide an even better passenger experience. Burrana’s In-seat Power solution will help meet increasing passenger demands to power and charge personal devices onboard. Under the contract, Burrana will supply more than one hundred aircraft with 2.1A USB and 110V AC In-seat Power in premium economy and USB power in economy class. Five of the fleet’s A320 aircraft have already taken to the skies with Burrana’s In-seat Power.

Burrana’s In-seat Power solution offers an innovative approach without compromising on space, weight, ergonomics or aesthetics. The reversible USB outlet ensures that LATAM passengers can easily power their devices.

Burrana CEO, David Withers, said that he is proud to be collaborating with our customers to help deliver on their brand promises and provide enhanced passenger experiences.

“Our purpose is to enable airlines to create extraordinary passenger experiences. We help airlines build their onboard brand by leveraging our technology.”

“This is another significant milestone for Burrana as we continue to deliver brand-enhancing cabin technology solutions to airlines. Once fully installed, more than 25,000 passengers on LATAM will be powering their devices with our In-seat Power at any one time.”

“The solution is a simple installation architecture with minimal components, consisting of a small, lightweight, seat spar kit – housing either double USB jacks or 110V and USB outlets, compact seat power boxes, and harnesses. We will also provide product support and manage spares within South America.”

“Our innovative design and installation approach requires only minimal aircraft downtime and offers a streamlined certification solution with a supplemental type certificate, without any additional dynamic seat testing.”

“We’re proud to provide airlines with a growing portfolio of modular end-to-end cabin technology solutions that anticipate the future needs of passengers, without compromising leg room or space,” Withers explained.

Passenger power will be retrofitted into LATAM’s A320 and A321 fleet will continue during 2019 and 2020. To learn more, visit the Burrana team on booth 1913 at the APEX Expo on 9-12 September 2019.
