Ultimate Flexibility and Lightest Weight
RISE Power consists of a small, lightweight seat kit housing USB jacks and/or 110V outlets and seat power boxes as small as an iPhone to provide airlines with the flexibility to install in multiple locations (seat spar, seat pan, seatback, below the seat or in-arm) or easily tailored to fit specific airline configurations. It also allows ultimate flexibility for airlines to mix and match USB 15W/60W and 110VAC across seat zones and classes with numerous single, double, or combo port configurations.
Weighing up to 30% lighter than traditional architectures, there is typically no need for expensive dynamic retesting or recertification of most seats and, installation is simple with a streamlined STC conducted overnight or OEM linefit. The smaller and lighter LRUs simplify installation and ongoing maintenance of the system, removing significant cost and weight while reducing fuel burn and CO2 emissions.
Passenger Satisfaction Guaranteed
Passenger satisfaction is guaranteed with RISE Power. The significantly smaller seat boxes and non-intrusive seat spar location enables passengers to fly in comfort with no intrusion on their legroom. A reversible USB jack enables passengers to plug in easily without unintended damage and all outlets feature foreign-object insertion protection to promote safety. A colored backlight ring on the jack also always provides passengers with visibility on the status of USB power.
The highly efficient architecture and multiple levels of redundancy bring passenger-facing failures to almost zero, ensuring full device use without experiencing “battery anxiety” on arrival. Additionally, smart load balancing and intelligent power sharing ensure all devices receive equitable charging through greater utilisation and efficiency of available power in the cabin. RISE Power is the only available solution that delivers powerful 15W charging (3 amps) via USB-A, giving passengers 50% faster charging than our competition.
First Impressions Matter
First-to-market and unique to RISE Power is our 48VDC backbone architecture that delivers much more than the fastest device charging, intelligent power sharing, prioritization of power and impressive performance. It also offers a streamlined upgrade path to 60W USB-C charging for laptops within the same system, just by swapping out the jacks. Built into the architecture is the collection of usage and maintenance data by seat to assist airlines in operating the system at peak performance, as well as gaining valuable insights into passenger behaviour and a better understanding of power demand as PED devices evolve. The ability to centrally control each port also unlocks revenue opportunities for airlines that might want to monetise the system.
